A typical grid-connected roof-mounted PV(Photovoltaic) system consists of several components, including solar PV modules, solar inverter(s), generation meter/ monitoring systems, and other elements such as cable(s) and mounting system(s).

Any solar-generated electricity which is not used at home, the excess electricity is exported to the national electricity grid and owner is credited accordingly.

• The photovoltaic(PV) cells in the panel, converts sunlight into direct current(DC).
• The DC current is then passed through an Inverter to convert it into an alternating current(AC).
• The converted electricity powers your home.
• A net meter keeps track of the electricity units generated, any excess electricity produced after powering your home is fed to the grid and the owner is credited accordingly.
• Your home remains connected to the utility grid to supply you with electricity when you need more power than your system is producing.
